Where I ate last night (which translates to, oh DAMN!)

The husband is working in Pittsburgh this weekend so we had an opportunity to scout around for a place to eat dinner.  Just by pure luck we drove past by the Loving Hut and after some parking lot wandering we found our way inside.  The pictures I took are with my iPhone so pardon the quality.
We started with Loving Hut Special Rolls which were petite and delicious.  It came with a soy paste dip with salted bean curd, pineapple sauce, and peanuts.  Bob and I agreed it was really delicious.  Hubby got the International soup which had silken tofu, bean curd, peas, carrots, corn, green beans, seaweed, and cilantro.  It was slightly spicy, delicious, and filling.  We both really like the huge bowl his soup came in.  It was white, large, gluttonous, and seemed like the perfect comfort food soup bowl.

I ordered the Deluxe Vegetables plate which had broccoli,  carrots, bell pepper, A LOT of cabbage, scant mushrooms much to my disappointment, cilantro, minimal fried tofu, and soy protein slices which were really yummy.  The ginger sauce was a light and thin but it was perfect with the brown rice that came with the order and all those vegetables.  Check out the menu here.

The final conclusion between us about the Loving Hut was that we both really liked the food.  It was our very first vegan restaurant experience and it was fun, different, delicious, and we left eager to come back and try more.  We got a To-go menu for a possible future dine-in meal at the hotel and now, this morning,  I'm just waiting for the hubby to get back from work so we can do some more exploring.  I spotted this and this yesterday.  They are inked on the list of places to go since I think it's completely possible to eat at these places and still continue our goal to eat as animal-free as we can.
